“But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31(NIV)
It has been a rough week. I had a reaction in port surgery, which is showing signs of going away but hasn’t quite yet.
Other reactions to the treatment include prohibited sleep during the night, chills, night sweats, and mental fog. I am sleepy all the time and can’t think clearly. Sometimes I fall asleep while eating. It has not been fun.
On Friday they took blood to look at my hemoglobin levels. I have lost a significant amount blood this week; however, my hemoglobin levels were in a safe zone, so a blood transfusion is not yet needed. Amen.
Although it has been a trying week, the good news is this: The reason I’ve lost blood is that the tumor is reacting to the radiation–it’s tearing itself away from my cervix. As the doctor said, “Radiation has made the tumor angry.”
Despite radiation beginning to detach the tumor, week one of treatment was very hard on my body, and I’m in desperate need of prayer to push through the weeks to come.
Prayer requests:
1. God will sustain me throughout each day.
2. For restful sleep.
3. The radiation continues to pull the tumor away from the cervix and causes it to reduce in size.
Your prayers are much loved.
