Walking by Faith, Soon by Sight

9 February 2026

In January I struggled with fatigue and a touch of depression. Brian encouraged me to spend a long weekend with a dear friend, followed by a trip to see my brother. Kari, his wife, taught me sourdough-making, and I got to play with my nephews (ages 9 and 10). That was wonderful therapy.

I retook my bloodwork. Good news first: my inflammation markers went down (one was cut in half, the other by a third). Now for the not-so-good news: it has been confirmed I have anemia, which accounts for the struggle with fatigue. Thankfully, however, I am now allowed to eat grass-fed beef and organic chicken with my current eating regimen. Just before mid-January, I decided to complete a five-day water fast for both spiritual healing and to initiate autophagy, in which cells go into repair mode, typically by the three-day mark. It sounds counterintuitive, but my stomach, which had been causing me significant discomfort, started to feel better. Could the source of my fatigue be my stomach rather than the cancer?

After hearing this news, I decided to see our primary doctor, who deals with stomach pain on a regular basis, to see what he had to say. He believes it is either:

  1. Some supplements that are causing an issue. Recommendation: Stop all supplements for at least two weeks then add them in slowly, one at a time.

  2. A stomach ulcer. Recommendation: Follow my diet but take out all acidic foods for approximately one month.

I’m already feeling better after only four days. I have more energy and no stomach issues. Hallelujah!

I will be very curious to see how my next blood work looks, which will be the first week of March—when I go back to Hope4Cancer. While there, I will have an MRI with contrast, along with a body wellness check.

My prayer:

  1. I am N.E.D. (No Evidence of Disease)

  2. My inflammation markers are greatly reduced.

  3. The anemia is gone.

  4. Safe travels to Cancun and back home.

Thank you for your prayers. I know God is hearing them.

Love,

Tammy
