I’m sorry I have been silent–it was not by choice.

I have been very fatigued, napping two to three times a day and walking very slowly. Why? Though I am fighting cancer, I have had pneumonia too. With only a dry annoying cough, I ignored it at first. Two months later, I decided to go to my primary doctor. After the second round of antibiotics, I am slowly mending.

The sad news: Though my immune system did a good job keeping the pneumonia from becoming severe, my body could not focus on the fight with cancer.

Today, I’m returning home from Mexico where I completed my third round of testing. The bloodwork reflected the “damage” from the antibiotics, which will return to normal as my lungs repair themselves. The results also indicated that my iron levels dropped significantly. Thankfully, Hope4Cancer gave me an iron IV, so I should be back to normal in a few days. In addition, I will be taking a double dose of iron per the doctor’s instruction to keep my levels steady.

The hardest news to swallow: The cancer has increased in size, though thankfully it is self-contained in the cervix, with one slightly oval shaped lymph node. I’ll be continuing the protocol treatment while Hope4Cancer looks for an oncology gynecologist surgeon to perform a hysterectomy. In the meantime, Brian and I will be searching for a similar surgeon in the U.S. to see if anyone is willing to do the surgery. Our health program may cover the surgery if in the United States. If you know of someone, please pass along their name so I may call to have a consult.

These expenses would be used to pay for this third visit to Hope4Cancer and for doctor consultations and any associated travel. Prayer Requests:

1.     Find an oncology gynecologist surgeon.

2.     Maintain iron levels (so I can have surgery without a blood transfusion).

3.     The cancer reduces and lymph nodes return to normal.

One more thing: Brian has done an amazing job caring for me through this whole cancer journey–but especially through these last three months. I can feel God’s love flow from him as he has served me through this sickness.
