“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my
heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
Psalm 28:7 (ESV)
Last December, Brian and I approached our pastor, asking to be prayed over by
the elders of the church. This prompting was inspired by James 5:14-15. That day came on
Sunday, February 12. We really enjoyed Pastor Chase praying for me and with us. When we got home from church, I had more energy than I have had since November. I walked up the stairs to our garage apartment without heavy breathing. I stayed awake all afternoon without a nap. I even made dinner. I believe without a doubt the Lord healed what was causing
my internal bleeding. It stopped because of prayer—not only Pastor Chase’s prayer but also the prayers of all of you.
Then, this past Sunday, February 22, I attended a BMW retreat (Bible Memorizing
Women). They too anointed me and prayed for my healing. Again, my energy level went up
even more. I returned home and unpack the car, as Brian was in Tajikistan. I must have
climbed the stairs six to seven times without trouble.
I am still being cautious and not overdoing it, but I am enjoying the concentration and the exercise. Next week on Monday, March 2, I leave for Cancun to get tested at
Hope4Cancer. I will return home on Saturday, March 7. I am so curious as to how
my bloodwork will come back, not to mention the MRI with contrast to check the tumor
and the other tests.
For those who have heard of the events in Mexico, we have some ministry partners in
Cancun who have been keeping us informed. This is what one of them sent in a text
today: “Good morning! Just to give you a heads up, things here are calm. There should
not be any problems for you guys while you’re here. Even on Sunday when it all
happened, we were able to continue about our day with no problems, and we have not
had any issues. May it be a blessed trip!”
Please keep praying. Brian and I sense we are nearing the end of this journey and will
praise the Lord no matter the outcome. May the Lord and your prayers be my strength
to fight this battle with cancer.

See the yellow dot? That’s me. Using the rope, I climbed down and used it again to climb back up.
