I want to thank you all for your desires to pray to the Lord on my behalf. I am encouraged and filled with gratitude to have so many caring people in my life.
I received confirmation for a meet and greet with the surgeon on August 19. She is a Gynecologic Oncology Specialist who practices in East Texas and performs surgery at Christus Health in Tyler, Texas.
Some have inquired how I am doing, so I will share two things which I hope communicates my peace as well as joy during this time:
1. At the end of our appointment, the specialist said to me, “You are a strong woman.” To this I replied, “Do you want to know why? Do you know what I do? I’ve memorized thirty-seven books of the Bible. I know who to lean on.”
2. In early May, I had a dream of a path along a high cliff. The path itself (the middle portion) was separated from the whole—like an earthquake had moved it out of reach. A turtle lay at the start of the main path, then a hand from heaven reached down and moved the turtle to the separated path (like a turtle on a fence ledge). It was only temporary, however, for the hand reached down from heaven again and put me on the far end of the main path. I woke up and told Brian it appears the Lord is going to detour my path for a bit, but then I’ll be back on it. (To me, the turtle represents an armored one who has on the shield of faith.)
My personal prayer is this: Lord, help me to remember you are my strength and to continue to lean on you throughout this journey. May I already count it as joy to be in this trial, for your sovereign hand is guiding me.
I will update everyone after my appointment to let you know how this journey continues.
